About Grid & Silicon

The AI buildout depends on complex systems working together. The grid has to deliver power, cooling equipment has to move heat, and fiber networks have to carry data between machines and places. Grid & Silicon follows those connections to explain how the infrastructure works and what its growth means for nearby communities.

How stories are sourced

Every news brief links to its primary source. That might be a company announcement, a regulatory filing, a utility or government document, or reporting from a named outlet. Planned capacity is labeled as planned, not as built. Each brief has a short "Why it matters" section that separates the facts from the context. The U.S. AI data center map only includes publicly documented projects, and each entry links to the research behind it.

Grid & Silicon is also a YouTube channel with short explainers on how AI data centers get power, stay cool and affect the places around them.
