Publicly documented U.S. campuses running specialized AI hardware or being built for large-scale AI compute. Telecom facilities and ordinary colocation sites are excluded.
Please refresh the page. The rest of Grid & Silicon is still online.
This map uses the 77 U.S. campuses in Epoch AI’s September 24, 2026 research release. Its definition requires specialized AI hardware such as GPUs or custom accelerators; ordinary telecom, enterprise, and generic cloud facilities are excluded. Operating sites and projects under construction are both included. Locations are rounded, capacity figures are estimates, and owner or user attribution is labeled when inferred. This is broad coverage of the largest known facilities—not a claim that every private AI cluster is public. The displayed MW and H100-equivalent figures estimate current IT capacity, not total facility electricity demand or a literal GPU count. Development records have no current capacity in this release; forecasts remain in the linked research records. Owner means the AI-hardware owner, which may differ from the property owner. Confidence labels are Epoch’s assessments. Sources and status last reviewed September 28, 2026. Download the research CSV · Research changelog.
Coverage increased from 75 to 77 U.S. records: CoreWeave Lancaster Greenfield and Meta Bowling Green, both under construction. No campuses were removed or renamed, and no existing operating/development classifications changed.
Epoch revised Prometheus’s current estimate from 562 to 496 MW of IT power and from 680,000 to 600,000 H100-equivalents. This is a research-estimate revision, not a reported shutdown. Meta’s description of the broader Prometheus buildout does not independently confirm these current estimates.
Checks included CoreWeave’s Lancaster announcement, Meta’s Bowling Green announcement, and Ohio’s Apollo power-plant approval. Announced project power and approved generation capacity are not substituted for Epoch’s current IT-power estimates.
